Acupuncture uses the insertion of hair-thin, single use, disposable needles into skin or muscle. The needles are not coated in any medicine or injecting medication. The effect mainly comes from your own body's signaling system. The placement and depth of the needles vary based upon the condition. Acupuncture's effectiveness lies in its ability to stimulate the body's nervous system. Acupuncture uses sensory areas of the body to send signals along the body, spine, and brain that signal a need for change. There are many branches and offshoot pathways of signaling that span across the body. Examples include nerve pathways or how muscles attach across the body. Acupuncture uses these systems to create a regulation effect. This process increases circulation, releases naturally-occurring pain reduction hormones, releases tense muscle tissue, and creates a calming effect.

Glenn Braud

Glenn is the Owner & Acupuncturist of Big Easy Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Xavier University Of Louisiana in 2012. He worked as a pharmacy technician for 7 years before finding acupuncture which was able to relieve long term breathing issues he had in his life at that time and back from childhood. This change allowed him to stop most medications and begin focus on other areas of life along with seeking out becoming an acupuncturist. He graduated from the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Houston, TX in 2019.

Glenn is licensed to practice by the Louisiana State Medical Board, holds credentials as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, and is Nationally Board-Certified in Acupuncture, Biomedicine, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

His treatments include a mix of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sports Medicine Acupuncture, & EXSTORE Manual Resistance Strength testing to formulate an individual plan for each case.

He is committed to continuing education courses and traveling for continuing education to continue to bring his patients the best benefit.
